The song was inspired by the story of Dax Locke who passed away from Leukemia at the age of two just last year. However, his love of all things Christmas and desire to live to see the holiday, caused St. Jude’s Hospital, his hometown of Washington, Ill. and literally people all over the world to “decorate for Dax” earlier in the year so that he could enjoy an early Christmas. People put up their Christmas trees, hung Christmas lights and even made sign’s for Dax and then submitted the photos to www.decoratefordax.com. Dax did make it to see one last Christmas, he passed away on Dec. 30 2009. Just a few weeks ago, Dax’s parents gave birth to a baby girl.
